Marko Mlakar is a co-founder and Partner in FranklinCovey Adria, responsible for strategy execution, positioning and business development.
Beside his role in FranklinCovey Adria he is a Managing Partner in Amrop, premium global executive search firm. His major focus are international clients active accross Adriatic region. Prior to Amrop he was the first Commercial Attache at the Embassy of the USA in Slovenia, being responsible for all business related matters between Slovenia and USA. His carreer started in a large Slovenian engineering firm.
Marko has completed over 500 top level assignments across different industries in the past 10 years. His main focus are private equity firms, financial services and technology companies. During the period 2007-2008 he served as a Board Member responsible for Europe at another executive search group where he worked on cross-border activities and strategic client relationships.
Marko obtained BA from University of Ljubljana, M.Sc from University of Maribor and is currently pursuing his PhD degree at School of Economics and Business in Ljubljana. He also completed General Management Program at IEDC Bled and Trusted Adsvisor program at IMD Lausanne. He is fluent in Slovene, English, Croatian and Serbian language.
His past and present professional association membership includes: Member of the Board-AmCham Slovenia, Member of the Board-Manager’s Association of Slovenia, Member of the Board-Association of Christian Executives, Member of the Board at Transatlantic Network for the South-East Europe. Beside professional association memberships he is active as the Member of the Board of Governors, International Tennis Hall of Fame and Committee Member at both, International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Tennis Europe (TE).
